Quebec City—September 14, 2017 – Bodycad has announced that the first personalized restoration procedures using its Unicompartmental Knee System in patients have been successfully performed.
Bodycad’s revolutionary system is designed to optimize personalized restoration of the patient’s unique anatomical features and kinematics. The system is based on proprietary 3D rendering of medical images of the patient’s anatomy, resulting in a better fit and the potential for improved clinical results and patient satisfaction.
“The personalized restoration enabled me to perform the procedure in an exact manner with minimal bone resection,” said Dr. Brian Hamlin, Co-Director of the Bone and Joint Center of Magee-Womens Hospital of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, one of two orthopaedic surgeons to perform the procedure. “The reconstruction resulted in a well balanced knee with optimized tracking while avoiding overcorrection.”
